Volunteer Spotlight: Duke Homestead

Looking for a great summer volunteer opportunity? Volunteering is a great way to build your resume, to meet new friends and to make your summer more exciting. From now until June, we will be cluing you in to lots of Durham organizations that are looking for teen volunteers.

Interested in history? Try volunteering as a Junior Interpretor at the Duke Homestead State Historic Site! The program is for students between the ages of 10 and 18. Students are trained to lead tours, welcome visitors, host special events and assist with hands-on projects. That means you get to feed chickens and spin wool into yarn and wear a historical costume! Fun!

To get involved, call 919.477.5498 Duke Homestead is located at 2828 Duke Homestead Road off of I-85.
