Junior Leadership Durham 4-H Club, a youth leadership development program, is a partnership between Junior Leadership Durham, Inc. and Durham Cooperative Extension. Ninth grade students attending Durham public, private, charter, or home schools are encouraged to submit an application.
Junior Leadership Durham 4-H Club is designed to shape the future of its participants by promoting teamwork, developing leadership skills, fostering self-confidence and personal growth, and providing information about Durham. The Durham Public Schools, Durham Cooperative Extension, and the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce have endorsed the program. The seventh Class will begin in September 2009 with approximately 25-30 selected students. There is no charge to the students but as a non-profit organization, Junior Leadership Durham, Inc. appreciates donations from individuals and community businesses.
