Summer Jobs

Looking for a summer job? Here are some great resources to help teens find paid summer work in this tough economic climate!

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 is providing unique summer employment opportunities for the youth in each of North Carolina’s 100 counties. Through the NC Summer Jobs program, qualified businesses can hire young adults and pay them with federal stimulus funds. Youth between the ages of 14 and 24 are eligible to join the program in Durham.

Maybe you are looking for hourly work that can continue during the school year. SnagAJob is the site for you!

Snag a Job is full of local job postings for fast food restaurants, retail, grocery stores and other places that often hire teens. They also offer great advice for young job seekers.

Remember, teens ages 14 and 15 are required to fill out a Youth Employment certificate with the State of North Carolina. You can fill it out with the help of your employer once you get that summer dream job.

Good luck and happy job hunting!
